HOW DOES IT WORK?

In order to ensure the proper working of the government, there would be a separation of power, where the government would be divided into three different branches namely the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches. This helps the government work better because each branch is legally restricted to performing checks and balances on each other, and since they are all independent no one branch can obtain power over the other two branches. This separation of power prevents all the power going to one branch and hence prevents a dictatorship. Additionally, since, Terra Nova is a democracy, it builds a stable administration mainly because the people who are working the government have been elected by the people. Hence, in order to be elected again in the next term, the government has to work efficiently. Additionally, since it is a democracy, the people have the power to change the government, if the majority feel that the government is not fulfilling the ideals and reason that they were elected for.  In addition to all this, since it is a democracy, the people are the ones electing the representatives, hence they are more aware of the working of the government, this also forces the government work better as they know they are under greater scrutiny. Similar types of separation of power exists in many different countries around the world, including US, UK, Spain, and other democratic republican countries around the world.

IT INVOLVED

IT can play also play a major role in administration as it can be a means in which the people can interact with the government. For example, there can be a website, monitored by the government where people can write their grievances and their concerns. This would be taken seriously and a proper team of people would be appointed in order to read and classify people's concerns and then take these to the head who can bring up these issues in the parliament.

Additionally, the government can build websites that would make the citizens very well aware of all the things that they are doing and the plans they are attempting to execute. For example, Australia is one country where two thirds of the people have used e-government channels to contact governments in the past 3 years. By 2011, many citizens were aware that they could get information about the government easily online. This creates a sort of transparency and improves the functioning of the government. In addition the government of Australia has also increased the engagement by the citizens through these e-government channels by the introduction of high speed broadband through NBN as well as increased use of new communication technologies.
